Wiggle Pet is a browser extension developed by Ajmal Hassan. It adds an optional animated companion to webpages. This policy describes how version 0.1.0 handles information.

The short version

Wiggle Pet runs locally in your browser. It uses pointer interactions and webpage layout to let your pet follow, climb, and play. This information is not sent to the developer or to third-party servers. The extension has no account system, advertising, analytics, or AI service.

Information used on your device

Wiggle Pet processes the following information to provide its features:

  • Pointer and keyboard interactions: Pointer positions, movement timing, clicks, and relevant keyboard shortcuts are used to recognize a wiggle, direct the pet, and handle play and controls. The wiggle listener can operate while the pet is hidden so you can summon it. The extension does not record what you type into forms.
  • Webpage layout: Element types, positions, dimensions, and visual styles are used to identify visible ledges and plan movement. This includes measuring the rendered bounds of headings. The extension responds to scrolling, resizing, and layout changes. It does not take screenshots, save copies of pages, or send page content elsewhere.
  • Browser state: The extension checks page visibility and your system's reduced-motion preference to manage animation. Popup controls identify the active tab so commands reach the page you choose; the extension does not keep a log of tab URLs, titles, or browsing history.

This processing happens on your device and is used for the companion's features only.

Settings and retention

Wiggle Pet saves your selected character, enabled and paused states, exploration mode, and motion preference in local extension storage. It also stores an internal setting identifying the pet experience. These settings persist between browser sessions until changed or removed. Wiggle Pet does not sync these preferences through Chrome Sync or send them to a server.

Temporary pointer, page-layout, and game state is held in memory while the extension runs on a page. It is not saved as an activity history and is released when the page is closed or its extension instance is destroyed.

Permissions

  • Website access: Lets the extension detect the wiggle gesture and display and move the pet on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS webpages. Page access is used to measure layout for exploration.
  • Storage: Lets the extension remember your companion preferences locally.
  • Active tab: Lets controls in the extension popup direct commands to the current tab.

These permissions are not used for advertising, tracking, or collecting a browsing-history database.

Sharing and third parties

Wiggle Pet does not transmit the page-layout, interaction, or preference data described above to the developer or third parties. It does not sell this data or use it for advertising. Its code and character artwork are bundled with the extension; no external AI service or analytics SDK is used.

Wiggle Pet's use of information accessed through Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the extension's stated user-facing features.

Google handles Chrome Web Store services, such as installation, reviews, and account information, under its own policies. This policy covers the extension, not Google's services or the separate data practices of websites you visit, including the website hosting this policy.

Your choices and deletion

  • Press Escape or choose Hide to dismiss the pet and its play overlays on the current page. Hiding does not disable the wiggle listener.
  • Turn off Keep me company in Settings to disable the companion and its page interaction listeners.
  • Choose Floor only to turn off page climbing, or pause movement with Take a breather.
  • Manage the extension's website access, disable it, or uninstall it through Chrome's extension settings.

Uninstalling Wiggle Pet removes its local extension settings through Chrome's normal uninstall process. There is no developer-held copy of your in-extension activity or preferences to delete.

Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated if Wiggle Pet's information practices change, with a revised date at the top. It describes the current release; any future features involving different data handling will require an updated disclosure.
